Rehutai has worked to support Otago Māori Rugby, Highlanders, NZRPA and the New Zealand Māori Rugby Board.

Both Anne-Marie and Danny have been board members of Otago Māori Rugby. This has included the roles of members, treasurer and Chair. A major highlight of our mahi with Otago Māori Rugby was hosting the Te Waipounamu Māori Rugby Rangatahi Ahurei in 2023. This was a celebration of rangatahi and whānau ora through the vehicle of rugby. With our fully volunteer board, we supported the growth of the governance on our Board.

Working with the Highlanders over the years has taken on different forms from working closely with the New Zealand Rugby Players Association Personal Development Managers to develop te reo Māori and tikanga programmes for players, to supporting the creation of the haka Hautoa kia Toa with Mr Waiariki Parata-Taiapa.

Anne-Marie is in her first term as an appointed director to the New Zealand Māori Rugby Board. Governance in rugby at the national level is in a period of significant change. Anne-Marie brings her strengths in kaupapa, research and analytical skills, and working effectively with people to the Boardroom table to support the New Zealand Māori Rugby Board’s goals, and those of New Zealand Rugby.
